Dear Bills, Manfredi: 'For the municipality of Naples, 60% increases. Government support for municipalities is absolutely necessary'.

A further increase in energy costs is expected: from €41,2 million in 2021 to approximately €66 million in 2022, which represents a 60 percent increase. The state is currently funding us with approximately €9-12 million.

Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi told ANSA, providing data on the impact of rising energy prices on the authority's finances. Manfredi recalled that, "anticipating the increase in energy costs for heating and lighting, when drafting the budget, we prudently increased the budget by a full €12,5 million, going from the €41,2 million committed in 2021 to the nearly €54 million planned for 2022."
