Drug courier stopped with 12 kilograms of hashish by the Guardia di Finanza of Campobasso.
The Green Basque Financiers of the Guardia di Finanza Group of Campobasso, as part of their economic control of the territory and fight against illicit trafficking, caught red-handed and arrested a 41-year-old individual, resident in Campania, with a criminal record for drug trafficking, with 1,6 kilograms of drugs on the road.
More specifically, the sequence of the activity, a patrol of the Emergency Service, integrated with a Canine Unit, of the Yellow Flames of Campobasso, proceeded to chase a car, which had not stopped at the checkpoint, set up on a state road, of the Province, in the direction of Campobasso, giving way to a hasty escape and endangering its own safety, that of the operating military personnel and of third parties.
After a long chase, the fugitive was caught, stopped and found in possession, cleverly hidden on board the car, of 1,5 kilograms of hashish – 15 blocks –, 50 grams of cocaine and 60 grams of marijuana.

Consequently, the person responsible was arrested, in flagrante delicto, for the crimes relating to narcotics, resistance, attempted assault and private violence, and was then transferred to prison, at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
Furthermore, having reasonable grounds to believe that at a domicile, however not declared by the party, but appropriately detected by the same patrol operating using the databases provided to the Corps, further narcotic substances could be found, another Department of the Guardia di Finanza was activated, in support, in the Campania area, providing, in this regard, specific and targeted operational directives at the time, for the relative search also local, which concluded with the seizure of a further 10 kilograms of hashish - for over 100 blocks -, 70 grams of marijuana, €1.900,00 in cash, no. 1 precision scale, a vacuum machine and a Postepay Evolution card.
Of note is the coolness of the operating military personnel, the Guardia di Finanza, at the time of the control, in the operational lead-up, flagrantly during and in the hectic phases of the police activity in question, in any case guaranteeing the safety of others and their own - unfortunately, also with the explosion, in the air and in safety, of three gunshots - as well as the quantity of drugs seized, 12 kilograms and the relative illicit value that it would have yielded.
The service activity continues incessantly and is also part of the Corps's device to combat illicit trafficking on the territory, to safeguard the laws and to combat phenomena characterized by very strong social danger, including illicit trafficking of narcotic substances, not least with reference to the resulting economic and financial implications, also through the seizure of illicit proceeds from those who engage in illegal behavior, confirming itself as an objective of the institutional mission of the Guardia di Finanza, in close synergy with the competent Judicial Authority as well as a functional value to increase both prevention and "perceived safety" and to "read", constantly, the reference operational scenario to draw every useful investigative cue.
