The third edition of the video contest “La 48H” of the MAC fest 2022 ended in Cava de' Tirreni. The Cortomiraggio team took home all the awards: the Best Short Award “Elvira Coda”, the Best Interpretation Award and the Audience Award. The jury also awarded three mentions. The screening in Rome at the Pigneto Film Festival on September 24th.

The event is organized in collaboration with Pigneto Film Festival, LABSAV Unisa, Toko Film Festival, Kinetta Spazio Labus, Festival Linea d'Ombra, la Settima Arte, Festival Storie Parallele, Giffoni Film Festival and with the patronage of the Municipality of Cava de' Tirreni. The godfather of this edition was the director Giuseppe Marco Albano, author of the book “Pop Corn & Patatine”, presented during the MAC fest 2022.

The seven teams, made up of actors and directors from across the Campania region, took on the far-from-obvious challenge of shooting and editing short films inspired by the theme "Liminare" in just 48 hours, while adhering to the technical limitations drawn at random.

The inspiration came from a reading of Eugenio Montale's poem "I limoni," included in the collection "Ossi di Seppia," which was tied to the MAC Fest program with its references to lemons and the Amalfi Coast. The essential constraint was that each short film had to be set in Cava de' Tirreni. The goal of "La 48H" has always been to create "an impromptu workshop where the city can be described through contemporary languages such as audiovisual storytelling." Each short, lasting no more than 10 minutes, highlighted some of the city's more or less well-known locations, weaving a web of references between stories, places, and people.

The Jury awarded the 1st “Elvira Coda” Prize for Best Short Film to “Chiacchiere da elevador” by the Cortomiraggio team (Gabriele Angrisani, Valerio Autuori, Vincenzo Pio Senatore, Fabrizio Fiorillo, Alessandro Delle Cave) and the Best Interpretation Prize to Alessandro delle Cave (“Chiacchiere da elevador”). The winners were awarded a voucher worth 100 euros to be used at RCE Foto Salerno and the screening of the short at the festivals Storie Parallele (Salandra, Basilicata), Pigneto Film Festival (Rome, Lazio) and Linea d'Ombra (Salerno, Campania).

Complimenting the other competitors for the quality of the shorts submitted, defined by Giuseppe Ragone (Storie Parallele) as “small miracles”, the Jury also awarded the Special Mention for Direction to Giovanni Palomba (“The Elephant in the Room”), the Special Mention for Acting Performance to Elisa D'Aniello (“The Elephant in the Room”) and the Special Mention for Editing to the Tetra Vision team (“The Sound of Silence”).

Finally, the Popular Jury, composed of citizens of the province of Salerno, also decreed “Elevator Chiacchiere” worthy of the Audience Award.

All the shorts of the 2022st and XNUMXnd editions are available on the MAC fest YouTube channel, while those made in XNUMX will experience a year of festival distribution before being published.
