"Every time I come to Naples, I feel refreshed and revitalized." This was stated by Five Star Movement President Giuseppe Conte, who this morning visited the Vergini district and the Sanità district in Naples, the first of a series of electoral events today in Campania. Acclaimed by those in attendance, including many of the Five Star Movement's local candidates as well as residents of the district, Conte, accompanied by Chamber of Deputies Speaker Roberto Fico, gave a speech from the churchyard of Sant'Aspreno ai Crociferi, in Piazzetta Crociferi, before walking through the historic Vergini market, one of the busiest in the city.
"We've said it many times: for us, alliances are made based on issues, not on the convenience of a numerical calculation. And then there's a political reason that rules out any agreement today: there's no possibility of dialogue with these PD leaders."
And he explains: "They sacrificed the good things done by the progressive front of the Conte government on the altar of the Draghi agenda.

"It's a ridiculous accusation because we're talking about a social protection system that exists in all Western countries; we introduced it late," responded Five Star Movement leader Giuseppe Conte to those accusing him of trading votes for basic income. "It truly astonishes me that Meloni, Renzi, and others," he added, "have taken up this war against the poor, those who earn 500 euros a day.
We're even at the height of paradox and absolute shame: the other day, parliament passed a law, in the midst of the election campaign, that raises the salaries of state executives, which are already €10 net. Forza Italia, Italia Viva, and the Democratic Party voted for it. And then they wage war on those who earn €500 a month to survive. Shameful." Conte is expected to attend the hearings in Torre del Greco, Acerra, Caserta, and Giugliano in Campania.
