Elections 2022, Campania confirms itself as the most solid stronghold of the 5 Star Movement.
After the counting, the Five Star Movement (M5S) received 34,67% of the vote in the Senate, doubling the fastest-growing party since 2018, Brothers of Italy, which stood at 17,93%. The Democratic Party (PD) followed with 15,88% and Forza Italia with 10,65%. All other parties were below 10%, including Third Pole, which held steady at 5,27%.
The League received 4,09% of the vote, the Greens-Sinistra 2,70%, +Europa 2,16%, the Popular Union 1,96%, and Civic Engagement 1,50%. The electoral data, however, paint a picture of a Campania region deeply divided on the vote. In the constituencies that include the city of Naples and the municipalities of the province, the Five Star Movement exceeded 5% (the final figure for the Campania 40 constituency was 1%) and the Democratic Party (41,36%) did better than the FdI (14,42%).
The scenario is completely different in the Campania 2 constituency, which includes the other four provinces (Avellino, Benevento, Caserta, and Salerno).
