Fsummer Linea d'Ombra, from conflicts to creativity from 22nd to 29th October. Among the new features, focus on videogames
Linea d'Ombra Festival 2022, the 22th edition of the Salerno festival unveils its image, announces the competitions and opens a new cultural front, that of video games, which presents itself in a special event, a preview of the actual event. This year the Festival will take place from 29 to XNUMX October, with the artistic direction of Peppe D'Antonio and Boris Sollazzo. This year the theme of Linea d'Ombra Festival is conflicts.
2500 films viewed between the Filmfreeway selection platform and many international festivals. 91 works from 47 countries will make up the five historic competitions of the Festival: Passaggi d'Europa, LineaDoc, CortoEuropa, VedoAnimato and VedoVerticale. Unifest, the sixth section of cinema in competition, is a university video festival project born from an idea of the Audiovisual Storytelling Laboratory-LABSAV of the Department of Political Science and Communication-POLICOM of the University of Salerno, with the scientific direction of Prof. Filippo Fimiani. The twenty works in competition, created by students and PhD students enrolled in any course of study at an Italian or foreign university, will be announced on October 20.
The video game and its philosophy is one of the novelties of this year, and will be presented in a preview event in Naples, during which the relationship between art and video games will be discussed. Jordan Layani, founder of the French production house Sloclap, will be the guest of a talk dedicated to Sifu, one of the most interesting products of 2022 (and therefore closest to the concept of video game art).
The event will be held at the Institut Francais Napoli | Le Grenoble starting at 18:00 on Saturday 6 October. Gianluca “Ualone” Loggia, a content creator and journalist with a long career of militancy in Italian video game information, will be in conversation with Layani.
