After two years of stoppage due to the pandemic, the seventh edition of In the City of Pullecenella, the gathering organized by the “National Fiat Barchetta Club” and which gathers 345 members in Italy and Europe, celebrating the iconic car FIAT, produced in the Turin-based company's factories from 1994 to 2005 and which brought the Italian car manufacturer back into the spider sector after a long period of absence.

Expected in the Campania capital, starting from September 16, over 20 cars will take to the streets for the first time, joined by spiders from another historic national group, the “124 Spider Italia”, dedicated to collectors and enthusiasts of the FIAT 124, produced from 2016 to 2019.

“After the forced stop due to the pandemic, we are finally resuming our traditional gathering – declare the organizers – It's not just a celebration of our passion for cars, but an opportunity to unite two of our nation's greatest assets in a single event: automotive manufacturing and a city like Naples, rich in breathtaking landscapes, architecture to discover, and world-class culinary culture to savor.

In short, we organize this event not only for our members, but so that everyone, spider enthusiast or not, can enjoy a taste of beauty, whether natural, gastronomic or... on four, splendid, wheels."

And it is precisely the meeting with the citizens that is the protagonist of the last “stage” of this rich three days. In fact, on Sunday 18 September, the Fiat Barchettas and 124 Spiders from all over Italy will meet the escort, led by Captain Giuseppe Imperatore, and will parade through the city of Naples. This year, the organizers Marco Alfredo D'Ambrosio and Federica Ariemma, after having animated Piazza del Plebiscito, the Denza Institute, San Martino, Piazza Trieste e Trento, and Largo Sermoneta in the past editions, have chosen Piazza del Gesù for the exclusive exhibition, a symbolic square of the historic center of the city where enthusiasts and “simple citizens” can meet, mingle, on the one hand to spread the culture of the Italian spider and on the other to be enriched by such an evocative location, so full of History, all to be visited.

The traveling show will start on Friday, September 16th when the liveries of the spiders will color, if possible, even more the already splendid Sorrento Coast to reach and meet the citizens, the cars will parade along the coast until they reach Mount Faito, where they will be welcomed by a breathtaking panorama. On Saturday, September 17th the industrial history marked by Fiat and the archaeological one will cross paths with the exclusive visit of the entire fleet to the site of Pompeii, an initiative realized with the precious collaboration of the Municipality of Pompeii and the agents of the Local Police, who will guarantee a safe and precious meeting between these two Italian excellences, giving the citizens who want to come an absolutely unique scenario to photograph.

“In addition to them, our thanks – conclude the organizers – goes to Agar Sport Management, the Fiat Barchetta National Club, the 124Spider Italia, to the Municipality of Naples, Mayor Manfredi and councilor Nino Simeone, councilors Pandolfi and Ferrante, and all the sponsors who with their precious support will make this seventh edition the best ever, we are sure. Returning in person for us enthusiasts means returning to share a passion and doing it once again in a location so rich in inspiration is a plus that will motivate the arrival from all over Italy not only of historic examples of spiders, but of the passion of our members which is then the heart of every Km traveled at the wheel of these iconic spiders”.
