Giancarlo Siani killed 37 years ago, Ossigeno remembers him on the website "Cercavano la verità" dedicated to journalists killed by mafias and terrorism.
Thirty-seven years ago, on September 23, 1985, 'Mattino' reporter Giancarlo Siani was killed in Naples by two Camorra hitmen.
He was twenty-five years old, the same young age as journalists Cosimo Cristina, killed in Termini Imerese in 1960, and Giovanni Spampinato, killed in Ragusa on 27 October 1972.
Siani was a freelance journalist who was waiting to be hired regularly by his newspaper, after years of precarious work, during which he had published important exclusive news on the evolution of some Camorra clans towards the mafia model and their links with Cosa Nostra, in particular those of the Nuvolettas and Bardellinos.

Naples, "Arrest me, or I'll kill her": He turns himself in and saves his ex-wife from yet another predicted femicide.
He was killed for making these revelations, as demonstrated by investigations and sentences. The story of the "journalist-journalist," as he is called in Marco Risi's film Fortapàsc (2009), is reconstructed on the Ossigeno website 'Cercavano la verità', dedicated to the thirty journalists killed by mafias, terrorism, and in crisis zones.
Along with the legal proceedings that led to the discovery and conviction of those responsible for the murder, the book also features images, testimonies, an extensive bibliography, and some of his articles. The annual Siani Prize ceremony this year, the organizers explain, "has been postponed by a few months for obvious reasons of expediency and institutional correctness," given its timing with the general election in which the journalist's brother, Paolo Siani, a former member of parliament, is running as a candidate.
Tomorrow, at 9.30:18, a flower-laying ceremony is scheduled at Rampe Siani, between Salvator Rosa and via Suarez, organized by the Municipality of Naples. Afterwards, at XNUMX:XNUMX at the church of San Gennaro al Vomero, a mass will be celebrated in memory of the journalist.
