Il EU Court confirms, to a large extent, the European Commission's decision that Google "imposed illegal restrictions on Android mobile device manufacturers and mobile network operators, in order to consolidate the dominant position of its search engine".
This can be read in a note which adds that "in order to better take into account the gravity and duration of the infringement, the Court nevertheless considers it appropriate to impose on Google a fine of €4,125 billion following reasoning that differs, on certain points, from that of the Commission."

The Court reduced the EU Commission's fine of approximately €4,343 billion on Google, the largest fine ever imposed in Europe by a competition regulator. Google's appeal, the statement continues, "is essentially rejected by the General Court, which merely annuls the decision in so far as it finds that the portfolio-based revenue-sharing agreements constitute, in themselves, an abuse. Taking into account the specific circumstances of the case, the General Court also considers it appropriate, in application of its unlimited jurisdiction, to determine the amount of the fine imposed on Google at €4,125 billion."
