Some Liverpool fans have been in custody since yesterday evening for the violence and damage after the Champions League match.
Yet on the eve of the Champions League match between Napoli and Liverpool, the English club, through its Twitter account, had warned its fans to be careful on the streets of the Campania capital to avoid being robbed or attacked.
Too bad, however, that it was precisely some Reds supporters, in true Hooligan style, who lashed out and attacked Neapolitan citizens after the match. It happened in Via Marina where the troublesome British fans also tried to “tackle” the scooters in transit, causing one to fall. The situation then degenerated, culminating in a violent clash between the two sets of fans.
The immediate intervention of the police on the scene meant that the two groups quickly dispersed.

“These images are totally unacceptable. A moment of sport cannot be transformed into such violence that endangers those who have nothing to do with the cheering or the match.
We have asked the Police Headquarters to identify all those responsible and take action. Those who go to the stadium to commit violent and criminal acts must be punished without hesitation. Violence is already unacceptable in itself, gratuitous and unworthy”- declared the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
