The Abbagnale brothers guests at the Naples Film Festival for the preview of the documentary "Due Con"
The life and successes of Italian rowing legends Giuseppe and Carmine Abbagnale come to the Naples Film Festival with the preview of the documentary "Due con" written and directed by Felice Valerio Bagnato and Gianluca De Martino.
The screening and meeting with the Abbagnales is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, at 18.45:86 PM in the Dumas Room of the French Institute (Via Crispi XNUMX). Produced by Emanuele Nespeca's Solaria Film and Peacock Film in collaboration with Rai Documentari and RSI Televisione Svizzera, "Due con" tells the story of Giuseppe and Carmine Abbagnale, born on the outskirts of Pompeii, who divided their time between studies and sports, coached by their uncle Giuseppe La Mura.
At first they didn't even know how to swim, but with their sporting feats in the "coxed pair" rowing they became legends of Italian sport and an example for several generations, marking Italian history for three decades starting in the 80s.
Thanks to sacrifice, passion and willpower, they have shown that they can achieve any goal: Gold at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in '84, in Seoul in '88, in Atalanta in '96, in Sydney in 2000 and Silver at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in '92, world champions from '81 to '91 and from '97 to '98.

The second day of the Naples Film Festival, directed by Mario Violini in collaboration with Giuseppe Borrone, features the national premiere of Antoinette Boulat's "Ma nuit," starring Lou Lampros, Emmanuelle Bercot, and Carmen Kassovitz, which premiered at the 20,30th Venice International Film Festival in the Orizzonti Extra section, starting at 78:XNUMX pm in the International Section - Women's Views.
The film tells the story of 18-year-old Marion, who has been filled with grief since her sister's death, but has reached an age where she feels a deep longing for freedom. On the anniversary of her sister's death, she begins a journey through the streets of Paris.
A night of encounters with familiar faces ensues, in a city where young people can no longer connect, until Marion meets the impulsive, free-spirited Alex. Thanks to the meeting of two solitudes, their journey will transform into the rhythm that marks their wandering through the city, like a journey into the night.
The festival will continue until October 1st with screenings of works from the Concorso Schermo Napoli Corti, previews and meetings with the public of great cinema protagonists such as Renato Carpentieri and Andrea Renzi (September 28th), and Marco D'Amore (September 30th).
