The new Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri, Colonel Manuel Scarso, originally from Modica (Ragusa), former Head of the Press Office of the General Command of the Carabinieri and spokesman for the General Commander, took office a few days ago in Caserta, and today met with all the representatives and operators of the Caserta press.
The meeting took place in the conference room of the Arma Benemerita headquarters, located in Via Laviano.
The new commanders of the Aversa Carabinieri Group and the Caserta Investigative Unit were also presented on the occasion.
Colonel Manuel SCARSO, born in Modica (RG) on 5 October 1972, married with two children, began his military career in 1993, attending courses at the Military Academy of Modena and the Carabinieri Officers' School in Rome.
Graduated in Law, Political Science and Internal and External Security Sciences, he is fluent in English and French.
In the ranks of Lieutenant and Captain, he held the positions of Platoon Commander at the III Battalion of the Carabinieri Student School of Reggio Calabria, Commander of the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus of the Carabinieri Company of Massafra and Commander of the Carabinieri Companies of Santo Stefano di Camastra and Messina-Sud.

As a Senior Officer, with the ranks of Major and Lieutenant Colonel, he was Aide-de-Camp to the Inter-Regional Commander of the Carabinieri “Ogaden”, Attaché to the 1st Section of the Operations Room of the Operations Office, Attaché and Head of the 2nd Section of the Operations Office, Head of the 1st and 3rd Section of the Ceremonial Office, Head of the Publishing Office and Editor-in-Chief of the Magazine “Il Carabiniere” of the General Command of the Carabinieri in Rome.
Since 12 September 2019, with the rank of Colonel, he has been Head of the Press Office of the General Command of the Carabinieri and spokesperson for the General Commander.
On September 15th he took over the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Caserta.
