The mayor of Dragoni: "Suspend the permit for the biomethane plant. Give me time to explore the administrative procedures and the impact on my community."
This is the gist of a letter that the mayor of Dragoni, Antonella D'Aloia, sent to various regional offices, as, having been mayor since last June, she seeks clarification regarding the authorization issued by the Campania Region (Managerial Decree no. 14 of February 15.02.2022, 500) for the construction and operation of a XNUMX smc/h biomethane (LNG) production plant fueled by biomass and related works.
“The plant to be built in the municipality of Dragoni, in the Case Sparse area, involves Cannavina Biometano Sarls as the company proposing the project, code EO20-10 – writes the mayor in the letter – Given the above, in order to delve deeper into the project's content, which emerged primarily following the requests of numerous spontaneous citizens' committees opposed to the plant, given the need to assess the environmental impact of the development, the ratio between the organic matter introduced and the digestate to be disposed of, as well as the small community's ability to manage heavy traffic flows and, finally, to contain the social and political tensions that are emerging in recent days, we ask the SS.

Furthermore, it should be noted that ANAS has included in the “Major Works” programme (CIPE resolution no. 121/2001 relating to the 443st Strategic Infrastructure Programme, issued in implementation of Law 2001/372, Objective Law confirmed by the document “Priority Infrastructures” drawn up by the Ministry of Infrastructure), the doubling of the entire route of the XNUMX Telesina.
This doubling will be accompanied by the “project finance” system, meaning the superhighway will become a toll highway owned by ANAS.
According to the current PRG of the Municipality of Dragoni, the distance from type A roads for the above-mentioned work is 60 m. Therefore, we request that compliance with this limit be verified”.
