Onmedian axis during rush hour it is a real massacre. Citizens who return from work every day living in the province, stuck in traffic, are very easy prey for criminals. Who, riding scooters with full-face helmets and armed with guns, have nothing to do but zigzag between the cars in line and choose their prey.
They pull up alongside the car, show the gun and demand what they are asked for. Once the robbery is completed, they snake between the cars and drive away. Citizens cannot be left at the mercy of criminals. Stuck in traffic, they are also forced to endure armed robberies, the reward after a day's work.
"Security cameras should be installed without delay, and given the rapidly growing problem, the Naples metropolitan highway should be patrolled with police checkpoints to combat the increasingly frequent scenes of the West. Action is absolutely necessary," said Francesco Emilio Borrelli, regional councilor for Europa Verde, who heard the testimonies of two shocked drivers.
"On Friday at 7:00 PM, near Scampia, two young men on a SH scooter wearing black full-face helmets approached a Range Rover that was next to me, also stuck in traffic, robbing the driver, displaying their gun, and instilling terror in all of us. Ten minutes later, they were in the opposite lane, looking for their next victim. I'm still terrified and, unfortunately, I don't feel protected," said a first witness.
“Yesterday at 18:30 pm, 500 meters from the Grumo Nevano exit, two individuals riding a scooter with full-face helmets pulled up alongside me while I was stopped in traffic,” reported Rino Strazzullo, secretary of Uiltucs. “With the butt of their gun, they broke the window of the car, on the passenger side, and stole a wallet and valuable watch. For over 25 minutes I called 112 and 113 but no one answered. When I reached the Aversa Carabinieri station, I received great assistance, and for this I am grateful to them as I was very scared.”
