The images, taken by many citizens and posted on social media, portray flames rising high right on the seafront.

According to the operations center, no one was injured; the length of the operation, which involved several teams, is due to the collapse of the structure and the presence of fires still lingering beneath the rubble.
The flames, very high, could be seen from the terrace of the Virgiliano park in Posillipo. The Municipal Police intervened on site with the firefighters and the men of the local Carabinieri station. Traffic was closed in both directions along the entire Via Napoli. Cars were forced to turn back, paralyzing traffic in both Fuorigrotta and Pozzuoli.
