"The many testimonies of the era still found in the city's churches and palaces are joined by some of the collections in our Civic Museum, particularly the valuable religious statues."
After the short thematic guided tour of the museum, the public will be able to enjoy a rare tasting experience with the "Tempo di Festa" Cultural Association. Laura Di Giugno (president of "Tempo di Festa") will briefly introduce the local agricultural and food products of the Bourbon era and illustrate the dishes prepared for the tasting. Thus, the public will be able to try rare recipes reconstructed philologically and with great attention to raw materials, thanks to the descriptions and doses found in the treatises of Vincenzo Corrado (1773) and Ippolito Cavalcanti (1837).
The event is part of the project "From Vanvitelli to the Future in Terra di Lavoro and its Museums," conceived and organized by the "Terra di Lavoro" Museum System thanks to funding from the Campania Region (museums and libraries sector).
Since 2009, the Terra di Lavoro Museum System has brought together local authorities (the Municipality of Caserta, the leader, the Municipality of Maddaloni, the Municipality of Piedimonte Matese, the Municipality of San Pietro Infine, the Municipality of San Nicola la Strada) and the school institution (Istituto Tecnico “Buonarroti” Caserta), all owners of museums recognized (of quality) by the Campania Region. Among the shared objectives are the integrated and synergic promotion of the heritage and the territory.
