Reopened in July 2021, after 50 years, thanks to the artistic intervention of Santiago Calatrava, the Church of San Gennaro nel Real Bosco demonstrates all the versatility and genius of the artist, who used the excellent local artistic craftsmen to create the decorative apparatus (the Royal Factory of Capodimonte for porcelain, which is located right in front of the church, the silks of San Leucio and the artistic stained glass windows of Vietri sul Mare).
Calatrava's intervention gives the Chapel a new spirituality linked to the elements of nature: the flowers and leaves of the Royal Wood of Capodimonte.
