Napoli. In via Carbonara, in the historic centre of Napoli, a protest is underway by some residents who have been trying to fight against the degradation of waste and illegal dumping for some time without finding support from the institutions.

A representation of citizens, therefore, decided to contact the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli to denounce the situation:

“In via Carbonara we live in absolutely unhygienic conditions. For 4 years there have been works and now they tell us that they cannot put bells for separate waste collection even though those works were concluded a year ago. Before the works there were bells and people, but above all the many minimarkets, put everything in order in the evening.

Now all the people, even from the adjacent streets, come to illegally dump their waste in the 10 bins located between numbers 52 and 95.

We are fighting with Asia and the municipality because we also want separate waste collection and to be cleaner.”

“The situation in the historic center is becoming more and more difficult every day and it is not good for the residents or for the image of the city itself, more and more tourists are complaining about the invasion of waste in the streets. It is a problem resulting from a less than optimal management of the collection and above all from the very high level of incivility that is being reached.

For via Carbonara we asked the Municipality and Asia to find solutions, quickly, to the problem that was exposed to us by the residents and in general we want decorum and dignity to be restored to the heart of the city. "- declared Borrelli.
