Department of Industrial Engineering of Salerno launches course to train a figure highly sought after on the market in sectors such as entertainment and automotive
What's new in the educational offering of the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Salerno. Registration is now open for the 2022/2023 academic year for the innovative curriculum in "Electronics for Sound Design" of the master's degree in Electronic Engineering.
This is one of the first university courses of its kind at a national level, which aims to train a professional figure increasingly in demand on the job market, the electronic engineer specialized in sound design.
In the past specifically linked to music production and event management, today this professional profile with the advent of digital and technological evolution deals with developing innovative solutions for the world of sound in all its forms and artistic and industrial applications.

There are numerous job opportunities for engineers specializing in sound design: from the world of music, which requires systems and tools for the production, amplification, distortion and diffusion of sound, to the automotive industry, which requires innovative, reliable and quality solutions for “infotainment” systems, a determining factor in the success of a model on the market, or systems that produce an attractive noise for electric cars that would otherwise be “dangerously” silent.
The curriculum in “Electronics for Sound Design” enriches the educational offer of the master's degree in Electronic Engineering at Unisa, which already includes the curriculum in “Electronics for Information, Industry and Energy”, in turn organized into two paths: “Internet of Things” and “Energy”.
Registration will close in February.
“Electronics for Sound Design is a curriculum designed for those who want to create new forms and dimensions of sensoriality – underlines Consolatina Liguori, professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering – This path increases the educational offer of the Department of Industrial Engineering and in particular that of the degree in Electronic Engineering, focusing on a highly specialized figure, and therefore much sought after, especially in the automotive sector increasingly projected towards full electric”.
