Another appointment with Liber Fest - Books for a Free Thought, a festival dedicated to literature in Camerota.

After Loreta Mastrolonardo, author of the novel "The Ballad of Maria Gemella," the protagonist of this second installment is Francesco Lepore, author of "The Giarre Crime. 1980: An "Unsolved" Case and the Battles of the LGBT+ Movement."

"After the exciting first event, on Monday, Liber Fest will host Lepore with his Delitto di Giarre, which will allow us, through a story and the chronicle of an unsolved murder, to trace the history of the LGBT+ community in Italy," explains Giangaetano Petrillo, deputy mayor of Camerota. "The aim of this festival confirms the intention to reflect, discuss, and progress on the path to freedom and rights.

This event will help address a topic, such as social and civil rights for LGBT+ people, which we rarely include in our meetings and discussions.

And as administrators," Petrillo concludes, "we are called to perceive all the different requests coming from our communities. Especially from provincial ones like ours."

The festival, strongly supported by the CREA Meeting del Mare Foundation and the Municipality of Camerota, aims to explore sensitive issues in contemporary society and stimulate public debate.

The meeting will be moderated by Maura Ciociano.

The appointment is at Palazzo Santa Maria, in Camerota, on September 26, at 21:00 pm.
