Worker Dies After Falling Eight Meters, Two Businessmen Convicted

Maddaloni. The Court of Cassation has definitively condemned Franco Santoro and Enzo Farina, entrepreneurs originally from Nocera Inferiore and Caserta, held responsible, for fault consisting of negligence, imprudence, incompetence and failure to comply with workplace safety regulations, for the accident that caused the death of Diodato De Angelis, an employee of Santoro's company.

The death occurred in April 2012 in Maddaloni, at the construction site of Enzo Farina's company.

In the first instance, the two defendants were sentenced to two years in prison, in addition to compensation for damages in favor of the civil parties and the payment of a provisional sum of 50 thousand euros.
