There will be special guests on the program of the 15th “Premio Andrea Parodi”, one of the most important European world music contests, whose finals are scheduled from 13 to 15 October at 20.30:XNUMX pm at the auditorium theater of the Cagliari Conservatory.
On Friday the 14th, Matteo Leone (2021 winner) and Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei, who will receive the 2022 Albo d'Oro Award, will take the stage. The final evening on the 15th will feature Tosca, the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino, and Portuguese singer-songwriter Tiago Nacarato, who will receive the International Albo d'Oro Award and will also perform some songs with Tosca. A group of students from the Conservatory will also perform during the festival.
The guests will alternate on stage with the finalists of the contest, namely Balentia (Sardinia), Beija Flor (Sicily), Escarteen Sisters (Catalonia), Folkatomik (Piedmont), Raquel Kurpershoek (Holland/Spain), Walter Laureti (Lazio), Antonio Smiriglia (Sicily) and Ual·la! Rai Radio1 is also a prestigious media partner of the event this year.
On September 24th at 19.30:2022 pm in Quartu Sant'Elena, in the cloister of the former Capuchin Convent, with the support of the Municipality, there will be a preview of the festival with a concert by Alessia Tondo (voice of the Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino) and Cuncordu e Tenore de Orosei. The evening will also feature some videos by Andrea Parodi and clips introducing the XNUMX contest finalists.
The finalists of the 2022 Award were selected by an artistic commission chosen by the Andrea Parodi Foundation (organizer of the event) and by the artistic director Elena Ledda. The selection was made from approximately 250 registered participants, almost half of whom were foreigners, testifying to the international importance that the Award has now achieved.
In the finals, the eight artists will perform live in front of a large jury composed of authoritative professionals, such as singers, authors, musicians, festival managers, managers, record producers, press offices, journalists, music critics, both Italian and international.
The overall winner will be entitled to a €2 scholarship.

The Award was created to pay homage to Andrea Parodi, “golden voice”, as Al Di Meola said of him. A prominent figure in Italian world music, former founder of Tazenda, Parodi passed away prematurely in 2006.
