Salerno. The checks by the Carabinieri of the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Salerno, initiated since the beginning of the tourist season, to protect public health, continue throughout the Province.
In particular, in the last few days, numerous commercial activities and food preparation laboratories have been inspected, which have led to the closure of a bakery – in precarious hygienic conditions – and the issuing of three warnings.
During the inspection of the bakery, carried out jointly with personnel from the Carabinieri Labor Inspectorate and the local ASL, the NAS of Salerno proceeded to immediately close the business (laboratory and sales point) as it found precarious hygienic-sanitary and structural conditions, including: previous dirt in some areas and equipment, bathroom communicating with the production laboratory, kitchen without an extractor hood, changing room used as a storage room for raw materials, water infiltration and the presence of mold.

In the same exercise, the Carabinieri of the Labor Inspectorate also examined three employment positions, two of which were found to be undeclared, contesting administrative violations (maxi penalty for undeclared work) for a total amount of 9.700,00 euros (suspension of business activity).
In Cilento, after the recent checks carried out in the area Capaccio-Paestum, numerous businesses in the surrounding areas were also inspected. In particular, the owners of a bar and two supermarkets were warned to remove minor health and hygiene issues detected in various capacities.
The value of the measures adopted is estimated at over 200.000,00 euros.
The checks will continue in the coming weeks, with particular attention to the areas with the highest tourist influx.
