Salerno. This morning, the Guardia di Finanza soldiers of Salerno, on behalf of the Regional Prosecutor's Office for Campania of the Court of Auditors, proceeded to notify a provision inviting them to deduct and a related "notice of default", with an order to fully compensate the damage caused to the Treasury, against seventeen natural persons, resident in the provinces of Naples, Avellino and Salerno.
The investigative activities carried out by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Salerno have allowed the identification of mismanagement of a real estate complex owned by a public body based in the municipality of the Amalfi coast, bringing to light a total financial damage of 1.400.794,42 euros (to which revaluation and interest must be added).
But also referred to the failure to adjust the rental fees for tenants who occupied the properties by virtue of a valid contractual deed, to the missed income from the rents established in the contract, not collected and culpably made to lapse or referred to the sums not paid by the illegal occupants.

In particular, the accounting checks carried out by the Guardia di Finanza allowed for a thorough reconstruction of 52 housing units owned by the institution, in the face of administrative/accounting degradation and a situation of disconcerting abandonment which, before then, had prevented the administrators themselves from having complete knowledge of the administered assets.
In the same context, the investigative attention was directed to verify the legitimacy and correctness of the expenses incurred by the administrators who took turns in the management and administration of the institution, who debited the institute's current accounts with unjustified costs incurred at fuel stations, restaurants, motorway tolls, as well as cash withdrawals without supporting "documents".
Today's activity is part of the broader collaborative relationship between the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Salerno and the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Auditors of Naples and constitutes the tangible and synergic institutional commitment to safeguard the correct use of State resources and to combat waste and inefficiencies in the use of precious public resources.
