Naples. The restoration of Luca Giordano's painting of San Gennaro will be presented on Wednesday, September 21.
the presentation will take place at 17pm, in the Church of the Nativity of Mary, known as San Filippo Neri, on the occasion of the week dedicated to the Patron Saint of the city, the Library and Monumental Complex of the Girolamini will join the celebrations in the capital.
The restoration of the painting is linked to the first call to the arts of the Girolamini Library and Monumental Complex, completed in 48 hours thanks to the patronage of a single donor, the Mastroberardino Società Agricola s.

Cited in all the ancient guides of the city of Naples, starting from Sarnelli in 1688, from Celano in 1692, to Parrino in 1751 and to Sigismondo in 1788, the San Gennaro is a work by Giordano dating back to 1678 conceived, in a phase of bright chromaticism, for the chapel of Sant'Agnese where it will be relocated.
The presentation will be attended by Dr. Antonella Cucciniello, director of the Girolamini Library and Monumental Complex, the patron, Prof. Piero Mastroberardino, Mons. Gennaro Matino, Pro-Vicar General of the Archbishop's Curia of NAPLES, and the restorer, Dr. Giuseppina Masucci.
