Castel Volturno. In the last few days, forty Caretta caretta turtles had emerged from a nest near the “La Favorita” beach, the monitoring operations were then interrupted due to the water bomb that had hit the entire Caserta coast.
Once the storm had passed, the researchers from the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station and the volunteers involved in monitoring the event were very surprised when they discovered fourteen more turtles inside the same nest, still alive despite the heavy flooding.

Super turtles decidedly resilient, which were released that same evening into the sea, where their extraordinary adventure in the open sea finally began, before the eyes of the volunteers of Enpa Salerno, Domizia, Lipu Caserta and other associations involved. Among other things, this extraordinary event was the last act relating to five nests laid on the Caserta coast by Caretta caretta in this summer 2022 that is coming to an end, which we want to read as a sign of good wishes for "our" sea turtles.
