Back to Futani Balconica, the festival that overlooks the balconies: music, theater, poetry, dance and installations enter the homes of the small town

Preceded, on July 24, by “Cartoline da Balconica”, a collateral event to the festival that saw the performance of Folkabbestia, and after two years of inactivity due to the pandemic, Balconica is back, the event that puts the balconies of the houses of the village at the center to build moments of sharing space and time under, around and above them, between artists and poets, inhabitants and onlookers, musicians and actors.

On October 1st, in Futani (SA), starting at 17:00 PM, music, theater, poetry, dance, and installations will enter the homes of the small town of Futani and reveal their most authentic nature to communicate and reshape both public and private spaces, starting from a reflection on the profound social, economic, and political effects that the pandemic has had, is having, and will have.

"This year, the Balconica Association continues to guarantee its commitment to designing and producing a festival aimed at providing quality performances, regardless of the performers' fame, to raise public awareness of cultural and artistic appreciation."

Now in its seventh edition, Balconica was born as an opportunity to stimulate local dynamics of growth and cultural, social and economic enrichment.

Over the years, audience attendance at the festival has increasingly been driven by the awareness that the event offers an extremely diverse and high-quality program. These elements help make the festival highly accessible to all age groups, allowing it to simultaneously meet the needs and budgets of even the most diverse audiences.

Balconica, a self-financed festival, first organized in October 2014, now returns with the same formula but with an identity strengthened by the cooperation between different minds and generations, presenting a program of great variety and quality able to satisfy all tastes, not only musical.

"Without too many words, without too much anticipation, the town center will become an open-air theater whose spaces, the balconies, will be filled with performances by the approximately 20 artists who, again this year, have enthusiastically joined the initiative.

Over the years, the festival has hosted artists from all over Italy such as MCCS Punk Lirico, Alessandro Fiori, Ottone Pesante, Progetto Nichel, In The Loop and Yosh Whale.

Finally, Balconica is entirely plastic free: all the tableware used in the association's stands will be made of 100% compostable material.
