Five events, 14 thousand spectators, over 200 artists and musicians involved in the wonder of the Royal Palace of Caserta. These are the numbers of the VII edition of Un'Estate da RE, which ended yesterday evening with the second special concert by Claudio Baglioni, protagonist of an extraordinary show together with maestro Geoff Westley and the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro “Giuseppe Verdi” of Salerno.

Io sono qui, Dagli il via, Mille giorni di te e di me, Avrai: these are some of the songs that resounded in the courtyards of the Royal Palace, accompanied by the singing of 3000 enthusiastic spectators in an exciting and unforgettable late summer evening. Also on stage were Giovanni Baglioni, who accompanied his father Claudio on guitar in the performance of the song E adesso la Pubblicità, and Phil Palmer (a world-famous musician who has collaborated with artists and bands such as Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Dire Straits, The Who) to perform, 40 years after its publication, the entire concept album Strada Facendo, of which Palmer himself was the guitarist and Westley the arranger and producer.

"It was incredible to be back playing with a dear friend after 42 years. – he confessed Phil Palmer at the end of the concert –.

It was a fantastic experience, the first one, when I recorded the album with Claudio. The second one was fantastic, in this incredibly beautiful place that created the perfect atmosphere for this occasion. We should do it again in another 42 years."

A special double concert that concluded the musical journey conceived by the artistic director of Un'Estate da RE, Antonio Marzullo, and which debuted last September 3 with Carmina Burana directed by Michael Balke, continuing with a concert-tribute to Fabrizio De André with Peppe Servillo and Ilaria Pilar Patassini and with a stop on Mario Biondi's Romantic Tour.

"With this edition of A Summer Like a King we have reached great numbers – declared the president of Scabec Pantaleone Annunziata – managing to engage the citizens of Campania, including young people and families, but also many tourists. This is achieved through a diverse show, which has allowed us to identify initially with medieval culture, with Carmina Burana, all the way up to Claudio Baglioni, who represents the pinnacle of Italian singer-songwriter music. Scabec's mission is to recognize all those projects that reconcile culture and the social communities that intend to develop it.

Satisfaction for the director of the Royal Palace of Caserta Tiziana Maffei"This year's Royal Summer represented an important opportunity to revive the "cultural squares," the courtyards of the Royal Palace. We intend to continue along this path of restoring our heritage to the community. I thank Scabec and the Campania Region for having once again brought the magic of music to the spaces of the Vanvitellian Complex."

For the artistic director of Un'Estate da RE, the maestro Antonio Marzullo, it was A magnificent edition that concluded with the resounding triumph of the final two evenings: a show by Claudio Baglioni, blending pop and classical music, conceived and commissioned exclusively for the Royal Palace of Caserta, thanks also to maestro Geoff Westley. Through the exceptional work of the Orchestra and Choirs, the Teatro “Giuseppe Verdi” of Salerno was also a key player with Carmina Burana and the Fabrizio De André Sinfonico. I thank the Campania Region and President Vincenzo De Luca, the Management of the Royal Palace of Caserta, and Scabec, which brought forth a challenging and hard-working festival. This work was greatly rewarded by a large audience that gave us so much satisfaction. We will try not to disappoint them in the next edition.

A Summer as a RE is planned and financed by the Campania Region (POC funds 2014-2020), organized and promoted by Scabec in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Management of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Municipality of Caserta and the Municipal Theater “Giuseppe Verdi” of Salerno.
