Santa Maria a Vico. Magician Hermes, real name Vincenzo Di Monda, 68 years old, resident in the central area of Santa Maria a Vico, currently under house arrest, avoids prison.
The seventh section of the Court of Cassation, to which inadmissible appeals are assigned, after further defense briefs by lawyers Carlo Perrotta and Luca Di Caprio, noted the manifest inadmissibility and referred the question of law raised to the third section of the Roman court.

A further hearing will therefore have to be set by the president of the third criminal section of the Court of Cassation.

The same reasoning had been advanced in both the first and second instance trials, but it was rejected in the first two. Di Monda would have had to serve a remaining five years in prison, a sentence already overturned by the Naples Court of Appeal.
The charge is sexual assault aggravated by the use of narcotics against one of his clients, a resident of Naples.

The investigation originated from a report received by the Carabinieri in July 2019, by health workers at the Maddaloni Hospital and those at the San Paolo Hospital in Naples. It emerged that, after a dinner at the man's house, the following morning one of his clients had woken up in the aforementioned home, numb, without remembering anything from the previous evening.
