The VISIONNAIRE22 review comes to an end with tributes to Paolo Conte, Pasolini and Marina Confalone. Live by Roberto Colella and guests Giorgio Verdelli and Elena Bucci

The last three events include the screening of the documentary film "Via con me" with Paolo Conte, the live performance of Roberto Colella from the group La Maschera (15 September), a heartfelt tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini with the actress Elena Bucci (16 September) and, finally, the Lifetime Achievement Award given to the actress Marina Confalone (18 September).

Visionnaire22 inaugurated its second edition with a late-July preview of the film "Aznavour By Charles / Le Regard de Charles" by director Marc De Domenico. The festival officially opened the third week of August with a masterclass by Maestro Aurelio Canonici dedicated to the music of Ennio Morricone and a screening of the documentary film ENNIO by director Giuseppe Tornatore. Viewings and discussions continued with screenings of "DeAndrè #DeAndrè Storia di un impiegato" by director Roberta Lena, "La Nuova Scuola Genovese" by Yvan Dellacasa and Paolo Fossati, "Giovanna," "Storie di una voce" by director Chiara Ronchini, and "Senza fine," a documentary on Ornella Vanoni by director Elisa Fuksas. Live music was also featured, featuring Simona Boo, Solista Brass Evolution, and the Littleitaly duo. Speakers at the talks included Lello Savonardo, Erminia Pellecchia, Peppe D'Antonio, Gino Aveta, actress Susy Del Giudice, Stefano Valanzuolo, and Alfonso Amendola.

Visionnaire22, an audiovisual festival born from the synergy between the FRaC-Baronissi Museum (Regional Contemporary Art Fund), directed by Massimo Bignardi, and the Tutti Suonati association, with the patronage and support of the Municipality of Baronissi, artistic direction by Andrea Avagliano, and filmmaking consultancy by Massimiliano Palmese, is coming to a close, and it's doing so in grand style.

The final events will have an important prologue: on Thursday, September 15th, there will be a screening of "Via con Me," a documentary film about the incredible story of singer-songwriter Paolo Conte.

Director Giorgio Verdelli will be the guest, along with Pasquale Scialò, who will present the books "Paolo Conte" (Sperling & Kupfer) and "History of Neapolitan Song Vol. II" (Neri Pozza). Journalist and television writer Gino Aveta will moderate the event. The event will conclude with a live performance by Roberto Colella of the group La Maschera.

Paolo Conte, Via con me, a film directed by Giorgio Verdelli, is a documentary about one of Italy's greatest singer-songwriters, told by one of the most experienced filmmakers in the field. It's an eclectic portrait of a great musician, but also a jazz advocate, a lover of painting and film, and a former lawyer. Luca Zingaretti narrates the versatile figure of Paolo Conte, using material drawn directly from the singer's personal archive, including interviews and tour footage. It's a journey through the artist's songs, concerts, words, and stories of friends, including Roberto Benigni, Vinicio Capossella, Francesco De Gregori, Jovanotti, and many others. Conte himself also discusses himself in an interview with Verdelli, not only as a singer-songwriter, but also as a lyricist, having written lyrics for the many artists associated with him, even delving into the most intimate and private spheres.

Visionnaire22 continues on Friday, September 16 (20 pm, free admission) with a heartfelt tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini, featuring a musical reading of "La Giaguara - inseguire Laura Betti e Pasolini" by and with Elena Bucci (produced by Le belle bandiere), who will be honored with a work by master ceramist Marco Fusco. At 19 pm, Francesco Della Calce will moderate a discussion with writer Renzo Paris, who will present his book "Pasolini Moravia" (Einaudi).

"Laura Betti has always intrigued me, with her air of a fearsome child, but since I began to truly study her, I've fallen in love: I discovered a multifaceted figure, ever-changing, free, vast, full of contradictions," says Elena Bucci. "I amassed any video, audio, paper, and photographic material I could find—her astonishing songs coaxed from illustrious authors, recordings of interviews and performances, and film clips. I plundered her dreamlike autobiography, so desired by Pasolini, the one entitled Teta Veleta, two words invented by him as a child to mean 'the sense of the unattainable, the carnal (...) something like a tickle, a seduction, a humiliation.'" By chance, among the stalls at a Bologna fair, I stumble upon the antiquarian bookseller who helped her reconstruct the treasure trove of first editions donated to the Pasolini Fund she created. He remembers that he didn't have a chair big enough for her. I meet her nephew. I follow her to Bologna, to Rome. I read her writings and those of those who knew her. I read and reread Pasolini, amazed each time by his prophecies and his clear visions. It's easy to understand how for her, whom he called Bimba, he could be a love and a reason for living, a fixed point, an eternal visceral comparison. I keep a diary and engage in an imaginary dialogue, I try to get to know her, to recognize her, I find her, I lose her, and I search for her again, even knowing I'll never find her again. So why so much exciting effort? Through her, I study freedom and all its risks, I seek the language of theater and the art of an explosive era, rich in genius, visions and contrasts. Even though it was yesterday, it seems so far away. I want to remember it and long for it, in the frightened gray of the present."

On Sunday, September 18, Visionnaire22 concludes its rich program with a Lifetime Achievement Award to a leading Italian actress. Following the award given to Renato Carpentieri in the first edition, this year the artistic director has chosen to honor Marina Confalone with a work by master sculptor Luigi Vollaro. A multifaceted actress, director, and author, Confalone has spanned the film and theater worlds, giving us unforgettable performances.

For the occasion—from 20:2021 pm, free admission—the film "Il silenzio grande" (XNUMX), directed by Alessandro Gassmann, will be screened. The film is based on the play of the same name by Maurizio De Giovanni and stars Marina Confalone, winner of six David di Donatello Awards, two Nastri d'Argento Awards, and the recent Ciak d'Oro Award, in supporting actress.
