In Soccavo a thief intercepted thanks to GPS and arrested. An expert thief of 61 years had just stolen a truck in via Giustiniano
Yesterday morning, the officers of the Vomero Police Station, during the territorial control service, on the orders of the Operations Center, intervened to report a truck that had just been stolen and located, thanks to the GPS system, in via Giustiniano.
The police officers, once they reached via San Domenico in the direction of via Giustiniano, intercepted the reported vehicle, ordering it to stop, but the driver fled; after a brief chase, the officers stopped him and, thanks to the support of a patrol car from the Posillipo Police Station, they ascertained that, shortly before, he had stolen the vehicle in via Falcone.
Furthermore, the operators found that the ignition lock had been forced with a hexagonal bolt and found a jammer and 40 euros in the vehicle.
The man, a 61-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, was arrested for aggravated theft.
