Trafficking of anabolics between Umbria, Marche and Campania: precautionary custody order for six people.
The Carabinieri of the NAS, with the support of the military of the Perugia Provincial Command and personnel of the Customs Agency, have executed a precautionary order against six people accused of receiving stolen goods and illicit trade in anabolic substances and drugs: one person ended up in prison, three under house arrest and two have the obligation to report to the judicial police. Of the six suspects, four belong to the same family unit. The volume of illicit business discovered is quantified at approximately 300 thousand euros.

This is the background that led the Carabinieri of the NAS of Perugia to investigate the world of gyms. At the conclusion of the investigation, the precautionary custody order was issued and carried out this morning. Officials from the Customs and Monopolies Agency also participated in the investigations of the Umbrian Carabinieri. The investigators carried out the measure - it is explained in a note - not only in the cities of Gubbio and Corciano, but in 27 provinces of Italy. The 32 search warrants allowed them to comb through sports centers and gyms.
The investigations – it is added – started with the interception of a package containing drugs and anabolic substances (coming from Bulgaria) intercepted at the Milan Malpensa airport but destined for Perugia, to the home of the man believed to be the main author of the trafficking of pills and substances. Two other suspects, one originally from and domiciled in Bulgaria and another resident in the province of Naples, recipients of the measure of the obligation to report to the judicial police, would have been involved in a transport of prohibited substances from the Marche to Umbria.
To date, over 1.800 shipments have been documented for approximately 500 customers.
