The Carabinieri and DDA have in fact carried out 3 arrests for attempted extortion with the aggravating circumstance of having facilitated the mafia organisation, known as the Esposito-Marsicano-Calone clan.
Francesco Marfella, 20 years old, and his two accomplices Rosario Iorio, 39 years old, and Christian Titas, 29 years old, ended up in handcuffs.
The Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Napoli they have in fact executed a detention order for a suspect, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples – District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against those considered seriously suspected of the crime of attempted extortion with the aggravating circumstance of having facilitated the mafia organisation, called Esposito-Marsicano-Calone clan, operating in the Neapolitan district of Pianura and surrounding areas.
According to the reconstruction of the investigations, the arrested persons, at the beginning of October, repeatedly showed up at the home of a 48-year-old entrepreneur in the funeral sector of Pianura and, threatening to kill him with a firearm, demanded from him the immediate payment of 2.000 euros and the subsequent payment of the monthly tax of 3.000 euros.
One of them, however, since he was under house arrest, reiterated the extortion demand via a video call to the victim.
The 3 arrested will be taken to the prison of Secondigliano, awaiting the validation hearing.
The measure taken is a precautionary measure, ordered during the preliminary investigations.
