Bastian Contrario on October 11, on the occasion of Coming Out Day 2022, published for SkyTg24 the video clip of the song "Se continuavamo così"; the second single published by the label FreakHouse records.
After the release of “Come va”, the Campania duo, formed by multi-instrumentalists and producers Fausto Tarantino and Salvatore Prezioso, present a song that, between sounds and melodies with clear synth-pop and 80s singer-songwriter inspirations, celebrates Coming Out Day 2022.
Watch the video
It is no coincidence that Bastian Contrario chose this day to bring to the attention of the Italian musical community a topic that is too important not to be treated and discussed all year round.
The video is directed by Bastian Contrario themselves and talks about love that has no gender but only a very strong appeal and seems to want to respond to Kim Casali's famous cartoons "Love is..."
The mix and mastering of the song were entrusted to Matteo Cantaluppi (Dimartino, Canova, Diodato, Tommaso Paradiso, Ex Otago, Bugo) and the sound is always super 80's and draws heavily from the Bolognese singer-songwriter experience of those years (Dalla, Stadio, Carboni…).
“Any song or story – the band tells us – it becomes a vision of something that ultimately doesn't exist or at least is enhanced by the mind of those who watch from afar. The 80s/90s are back in our minds, the singer-songwriters of the Bolognese scene, but also Duran Duran or Frankie Goes to Hollywood. All this was mixed in our songs and like a work of musical archeology we combined sounds, memories, songs and emotions, giving life to a new work with a strong stylistic and emotional impact, taking us back to the 80s. Like when you find an old sweater that you can still wearing it and feeling the slightly rough wool makes you think of all the stories from the past”.
Biography:
Bastian Contrario is a two-man band from Campania, composed of Fausto Tarantino and Salvatore Prezioso, formed after taking a trip to the deep north of Europe. Discovered and produced by Gianni Maroccolo with their first album “Due il contrario di uno” (Ala Bianca records) with a folk-symphonic matrix, they appeared with the song “Parla tu per me” on the CD “La leva cantautoriale degli anni Zero” produced by Club Tenco/MEI. On “MTV New Generation” they were artists of the week with the song/video “Amore distratto”. In the song “Oggi non è” they collaborate with Marcello Colasurdo ('E Zezi), voice and soul of Neapolitan popular culture. After a long series of concerts throughout Italy, they gained more and more acclaim until they reached the concert of Primo Maggio in Rome. Live, in two and with a loop machine, they give life to orchestrations in which they play live drums, bass, synth, keyboards, guitar, switching from one instrument to another and creating a rich and engaging live like a real band made up of multiple elements. On May 16, 2022 there is the discographic return with the new single "Come va?" (FreakHouse records), the first of a new chapter where with a different language from the past they do not stop researching and cultivating emotions that can be sung. On September 30, 2022 "SE CONTINUAVAMO COSI'" is released, the second single of a new chapter where with a different language from the first album they are always looking for emotions that can be sung.
