The wreath of the Four Days was burned in Naples, the condemnation of the Anpi. The commemorative wreath had been placed on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the date.
The commemorative wreath of the Four Days in which the Campania capital was freed from the Germans at the end of the Second World War was burned in Naples, in front of the Sannazaro Classical High School, in the heart of the residential neighborhood of Vomero.
“An act condemnable from every point of view”, stigmatizes the Anpi Napoli. The commemorative wreath was placed on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the date.
“It could have been a thoughtless gesture or a political provocation; in either case it is a question of immeasurable ignorance on the part of those who thought up and created such a thing,” writes the Neapolitan partisan association, which “in condemning this vile action, he underlines once again that the only weapon of defense against all violence, oppression and arrogance is Culture alone.
The ANPI is therefore close to the entire community of the Sannazaro High School, to the city institutions (V Municipality and the Municipality of Naples) and, in order to quickly erase every trace of the regrettable nocturnal gesture, proposes that a new wreath, with a rite preceded by an assembly with the participation of the students, the V Municipality and the ANPI itself, be placed in memory of the fallen of 1943".
