Campobasso 'perfume gang': 3 reported. Three Eastern European citizens resident in Campania operated in Campobasso perfumeries
They operated in the perfumeries of the shopping centres of the capital of Molise with a shopper-type bag equipped with an internal shield that prevented the anti-shoplifting alarm, and stole branded perfumes from the shelves.
About a month after the incidents, operators from the Office of General Prevention and Public Aid of the Campobasso Police Headquarters identified and reported the perpetrators of several robberies in which designer perfumes were stolen from shops in Molise, destined for the illegal cosmetics market.
At the end of the investigation, the Campobasso State Police reported three men, all Eastern European citizens and resident in Campania, with numerous criminal records for the commission of property crimes, for attempted aggravated theft in competition.
The third man in the perfume gang was identified through a particular analysis: on the cardboard bag seized by the police immediately after the events, the Scientific Police were able to "enhance" some papillary prints, which allowed them to ascertain that it was the same person stopped on another occasion, again an attempted theft of perfumes in Campobasso.
