Caserta. Thieves on the move stopped on the highway: they had two luxury watches, but with a broken strap. Two boys aboard a car were stopped by the Caserta police while driving along the southbound carriageway of the A1, in the section between the Capua and Santa Maria Capua Vetere junctions, yesterday afternoon.
The officers, suspicious of the attitude of the occupants of a Citroen C3 Air Cross, whose driver, at the sight of the patrol, had attempted to avoid the check, identified the occupants and proceeded to a thorough check of the vehicle and personnel.
In the belt of a 27-year-old, a Rolex Daytona Chocolate model found robbed in Lombardy from an entrepreneur the previous evening; a Patek Philippe was then hidden in a guardian worn by his 20-year-old accomplice. Both watches are worth approximately 80.000 euros.
Also seized were a Bluetooth headset, two pairs of gloves, cash and several cell phones. The 27-year-old was arrested, while the younger one was reported for receiving stolen goods.
