Coldplay in Naples, fans also from abroad to see the concert. Stadium sold out on June 21 and 22.
They will come to Naples not only from other cities in Italy but also from abroad to attend the double concert of Coldplay. The English band will play at the 'Maradona' stadium on June 21 and 22, 2023, two dates that sold out just over half an hour after the opening of ticket sales last August.
Each of the band's performances will be attended by 43 thousand spectators. The numbers provided by the organization say that 10 thousand tickets were sold in Campania and 2700 tickets were purchased from abroad.
“With Coldplay, great music returns to Naples that has been missing for a long time – said the mayor, Gaetano Manfredi – and this is further evidence of the centrality of our city and it is an opportunity for our economy and for tourism because tens of thousands of people will travel to come here from Italy and abroad. We will work more and more on these big events also deseasonalizing tourism so that Naples can be full all year round because this means economy, life and job opportunities for many”. Despite the strong demand, the possibility of a third date at the 'Maradona' has been excluded.
“Coldplay in Naples is a showcase for the city and also the hope that it is a first sign of the return of international stars – underlined Giuseppe Gomez Paloma, promoter of Fast Forward – also because it was specifically the band and in particular Chris Martin who chose Naples. This gives us hope considering that Coldplay have been one of the most iconic bands in the world for years now and therefore could be ambassadors for their colleagues".
Ferdinando Tozzi, the mayor's delegate for music and audiovisual, also participated in the presentation of the two Neapolitan dates of the English band's world tour.
