CLow-cost airline cancels flight to Venice from Naples due to fog. Travelers' complaint: "An odyssey. Flight first delayed and then cancelled without explanation, refund or possibility of alternatives”
On the morning of October 27, Naples woke up shrouded in thick fog. The situation created problems especially for air traffic, but some travelers who had booked a low-cost airline flight to Venice suffered a real mockery.
One of the users who was at Capodichino airport reported it and decided to tell the Regional Councillor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli about his experience:
“I have to tell you about this odyssey of us travellers who had to board a flight from Naples to Venice at 8,10 yesterday morning.
Despite the fog that had already appeared during the night in Naples, the airline let us go to boarding at Capodichino airport, at about 8,10 they informed us of a 5 minute delay. After about 15 minutes, we probably would have left but late.
At around 9,50 they cancelled the flight without providing information or assistance.
The worst thing was that we could not take an alternative flight nor was there any possibility of a refund.
Rightly so, a huge queue with angry people formed at the counter in Capodichino, in fact the police had to intervene.
The problem was on all flights of the same company, all or almost all cancelled. While other companies did not all fly regularly.”.
“We want to understand why there was no refund or the possibility of offering an alternative flight. We asked the airline for explanations. At the very least there must be greater clarity with users without whom, it is worth remembering, the companies would have no way of continuing to exist. Therefore, travellers must be respected. ”- declared Borrelli.
