Two attacks on health workers in Naples and Acerra. The association 'Nessuno tocchi Ippocrate' reported them on Facebook.
The first case occurred at the Ospedale del Mare in Naples where two men attacked with fists and elbows a healthcare worker who was swabbing their mother before allowing her to access treatment.
The other episode occurred at Villa dei Fiori in Acerra, where the reception was destroyed by some users. "We no longer tolerate working in the trenches" states Manuel Ruggiero on behalf of 'Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate'.
At the Ospedale del Mare assault n.50 of 2022. At the Emergency Room of the Ospedale del Mare two men arrive screaming and asking for assistance for their mother who is suffering from a probable renal colic. The Triage reception staff immediately rushes to take charge of the patient, has her sit in a wheelchair and takes her to the room dedicated to carrying out the mandatory rapid swab to access the visit.
The lady's children react badly, swearing and verbally attacking the staff because they believed it was unfair to have to take a swab before accessing care. Regardless of the health workers' explanations, they hit a social health worker with fists and elbows. At that point the lady was assured of the care of the reception staff and the police were contacted after insults and other various threats.
“The phenomena of aggression against healthcare personnel in the territory of the ASL Napoli 1 are increasing, hospital aggressions are increasing and those against 118 are decreasing, we hope that the new government and the opposition will make a bill that seriously protects us!”, writes the association Nessuno Tocchi Ippocrate on Facebook.
At Villa dei Fiori in Acerra, the reception was destroyed without reason by some users. Doctor Manuel Ruggiero, president of the association, left a sarcastic comment on social media: “As the vice president of the Naples medical association, Dr. Silvestro Scotti, said: “Naples, for health personnel, is like Raqqa. We no longer tolerate working in the trenches!”
