This night in Giugliano in Campania in the Varcaturo area the Carabinieri of the local station intervened in via Francesco a Patria in the stretch of the external ring road for a road accident with several injuries.
From an initial summary reconstruction still to be verified, it appears that an individual while aboard a Fiat Stilo lost control of the car, crashing into the guard rail and then abandoning the vehicle and fleeing.
Shortly after – in the same direction of travel – an Alfa 164 arrived with a 38-year-old man from Campomarino and his 31-year-old partner from Quarto on board. The driver stopped the Alfa just behind the Fiat Stilo in an attempt to signal the dangerous obstacle to other motorists.
But then another car arrived… a Toyota Yaris with a 50-year-old woman from Villaricca on board who lost control of the vehicle, overturned and crashed into the 164 where the 31-year-old woman from Quarto was inside.
The Yaris also crashed into another car, a Fiat Punto with a 39-year-old man from San Cipriano d'Aversa inside who was stopped there.
Bulletin: The 39-year-old from San Cipriano unharmed;
The 50-year-old from Villaricca was transferred to the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital in Pozzuoli where she is hospitalized with a non-life threatening condition due to a broken nasal septum;
The 31-year-old from Quarto was transferred to San Giuliano in Giugliano in Campania where she is being observed but her life is not in danger.
Investigations underway by the Carabinieri who seized the uninsured Fiat Stilo.
