Neapolitan nurse dies in a car accident in Veneto while going to work.
The victim was called Salvatore Silvestre, 38 years old, a nurse at the Venice Civil Hospital in the “Week Surgery” division. He was riding his motorcycle along the truck road, in the Spinea area, and was going to work when he collided with a heavy vehicle that was leaving a transport company at the intersection with Via Prati.
The impact was violent and the young motorcyclist fell heavily to the ground meters away from the collision. An ambulance arrived on the scene along with the police to carry out the surveys.
When the rescue arrived he was still alive, the man was loaded into the ambulance headed to the hospital dell'Angelo, in a desperate attempt to save him. The efforts of the doctors, however, were not enough and he died shortly after.
Originally from the province of Napoli, Silvestre lived in Fornase di Spinea. For a couple of years he had been employed at the Civil Hospital of Venice. When he didn't arrive for his shift, his colleagues became alarmed and tried to find out about him. A little later, from Teacher, the notification of the death has arrived.
Silvestre, who had moved to Veneto a few years ago, is remembered as a punctual and attentive person, passionate about his work. Over time he had become friends with his colleagues in the department, who were shocked by the tragedy.
Silvestre left his partner Antonietta, also originally from Campania and employed in the healthcare sector. The mayor of Spinea, Martina Vesnaver, expressed words of regret and condolences for the tragedy involving the victim and the bereaved family members: "I join in the family's grief. It is sad to think of lives cut short so prematurely."
The circumstances of the fatal accident are still unclear: investigators are working to shed light on the details of what happened, in order to ascertain any responsibilities.
