Azzurra Merenda makes her debut on the small screen in “Sopravvissuti”, the series broadcast for the first time on Rai1 starting this evening, October 3, in prime time. A mystery-drama in 6 evenings (12 episodes of 50 minutes), with the co-production of Rai Fiction, Rodeo Drive, France Télévisions, Cinétévé, ZDFneo, directed by Carmine Elia with a truly numerous cast, including: Lino Guanciale, Luca Biagini, Barbora Bobulova, Stèfi Celma, Giacomo Giorgio, Elena Radonicich and Pia Lanciotti.
The talented Azzurra, a very young face of Peppe Mastrocinque's PM5 Talent Agency, plays the character of Camilla, the youngest daughter of Luca Giuliani (Lino Guanciale) and Sylvie (Stéfi Celma) in the series “Sopravvissuti”.
“I had a lot of fun because I met so many actors, like Lino Guanciale, a very nice and kind person. On the set he was very funny and always imitated the voices of other actors in the cast when they made mistakes. Then, when we were in Genoa, during the lunch break we often played together, in short he always made me feel at ease on the set. My character Camilla is a sweet little girl, who loves her dad very much and immediately, very perceptive, understands that something is wrong. Even though I am the only little girl in the cast, on the set I didn't encounter any difficulties. Everyone was very nice and made me feel at ease.
It was an unforgettable experience that I will always carry in my heart. I bonded a bit with all the actors, especially with Lino and Margherita Aresti, who plays Maia, my older sister, in the fiction. One of the most beautiful things I remember about this first experience was the final moment, when I gave a speech of thanks and everyone applauded me. It was a truly emotional moment. They gave me a clapperboard with all the signatures of the cast and two radios that they used on the set to communicate”.
Child prodigy, Azzurra Merenda (10 years old, from Aversa) loves school, drawing, dance – especially pole dancing – and is passionate about foreign languages. She began to take her first steps in the world of fashion, as a testimonial for some games and clothing for children, a sector in which she continues to make her way.
Her love for acting was born by chance, when she was passionate about cinema and television series and asked her parents if she wanted to study acting. After a small experience with The Jackal, little Merenda began attending the University of Cinema in Naples directed by Peppe Mastrocinque. A journey that took the very young actress to the set of “Il commissario Ricciardi” and “Mina settembre”, where she played small roles, until she arrived on the set of “Sopravvissuti”, where she managed to show off her skill and talent.
