The rediscovery of 700th century Neapolitan music through “La Voce dell'Organo”. October 23 and 30, 2022 – 19,30:XNUMX pm at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Vomero
Neapolitan music from the 700th century returns to resonate through “La Voce dell'organo” which in the two concerts on Sunday 23 October (19,30 pm) and Sunday 30 October (19,30 pm) at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Vomero, will see the great 1985 Mascioni organ as protagonist, played by two exceptional organists Enrico Viccardi and Mauro Castaldo.
The two concerts of the Convivio Armonico review curated by the Area Arte Associazione, are realized in collaboration with the October Franciscan of the Community of the Friars Minor Conventual and with the consultancy of Maestro Mauro Castaldo and the Organ Association "GM TRABACI" of Naples and are aimed at the rediscovery of Neapolitan music of the '700, in a research path between past and future, which unites the ancient repertoire of the Neapolitan School with works by modern and contemporary composers from Campania.

On October 23rd (19.30 pm) the organist Enrico VICCARDI will perform pieces ranging from works from the Neapolitan Baroque with GM Trabaci and A. Scarlatti to the German one with JS Bach and JCHRinck and from the nineteenth century German one with JG Rheinberger, to the Italian one with the compositions of F. Capocci and ME Bossi.
Viccardi holds the title of Organ and Organ Composition at the Conservatory of Parma, as well as a teacher at the Diocesan School of Sacred Music "Dante Caifa" in Cremona and President of the musical association Accademia Maestro Raro, artistic director of the "Percorsi d'Organo in the Province of Como" and of the Autunno Organistico nel Lodigiano. He has an intense concert and recording activity of international importance spanning decades.
On October 30 (19.30:XNUMX pm) to conclude the cycle, Mauro CASTALDO, organist and composer, head of Organ and Organ Composition at the N.Sala Conservatory of Benevento and consultant of the review, will be our guest. He will present an original and refined program dedicated to two Neapolitan composers of the twentieth century, Giuseppe Martucci and Rino Maione.

Castaldo has dedicated his intense concert career, both nationally and internationally, both to the great repertoire and to the rediscovery of unpublished works from all eras: in particular with the “GM Trabaci” Association founded by him, he has brought to light the precious writing of the most ancient Neapolitan organ tradition and the organ heritage related to it. He is the author of the book “Il giardino dei silenziosi – Iuppiter Edizioni 2012” dedicated to the organs of the churches of Naples, preface by Mons. Vincenzo De Gregorio, the publication has been requested in Switzerland and Holland.
