Naples. They savagely beat two car thieves who were operating in the Fuorigrotta neighborhood: Giuseppe Troncone was arrested at the request of the Naples DDA.
This morning, agents from the Naples Flying Squad and the San Paolo Police Station executed a precautionary prison order against Giuseppe Troncone, 25, son of the boss Vitale Troncone, accused of serious injury and robbery, aggravated by mafia methods.
According to the investigations, Troncone, on October 10nd of last year, together with Andrea Merolla – killed in an ambush on November 2021th, XNUMX – allegedly participated in the violent beating of two young offenders caught stealing from parked cars in the Fuorigrotta neighborhood. One of the victims was hit several times with the butt of a gun in the face, causing permanent injuries, and then the car he was traveling in was robbed.
The violent attack was supposedly aimed at underlining the dominance of the Troncone clan operating in the Phlegraean district, of which Giuseppe Troncone is an extremely important element as the son of Vitale Troncone, at the top of the criminal family and injured in a raid last year.
For this episode, Giuseppe Troncone, on December 24, 2021, had been arrested on suspicion of crime. On that occasion, the investigating judge at the Court of Naples had not validated the precautionary measure and the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Naples had appealed the decision. The Court of Naples - Review Section accepted the appeal and issued the precautionary measure executed today which was confirmed by the Court of Cassation.
According to the prosecution, Troncone acted together with Andrea Merolla, 30, killed last November in an ambush on via Caio Duilio. Merolla, nicknamed the Turk, was riding his motorbike when he was flanked by the killers who fired four gunshots at him. Merolla, seriously wounded, died a few hours later in hospital after trying to escape on foot.
