Long weekend for Autumn Music: from Monteverdi's madrigals to Bob Dylan's rock, passing through Aristo Sham's piano. Five events scheduled from Thursday 6 to Sunday 9 October
After the debut at the Museo Campano in Capua with recitals by Francesco Libetta and Bruno Canino, the Autumn Music Festival continues with concerts scheduled in the archaeological museums of Teano and Maddaloni as well as in Piedimonte Matese and Aversa. A long weekend featuring repertoires ranging from the baroque music of Monteverdi to the rock of Bob Dylan.
Five events are scheduled. It starts tomorrow, Thursday 6 October 2022 (19,30:XNUMX pm) at the Archaeological Museum of Teano where, for the “Antiqua” cycle, the event entitled “The Autumn of the Madrigal… the Spring of Opera and Ballet” is scheduled. The Ad Parnassum company of London, to the music of Monteverdi's Madrigali guerreri e amorosi, will perform a scenic production based on the original indications. The activity of the young English company is manifested through an eclectic variety of shows created under the guidance of the founder Maria-Lisa Geyer, director and also singer in the ancient repertoire, and of Riccardo Parravicini who is the musical director. The Teano show sees the participation of the choreographer Roberto De Gregori.
Autumn Music continues on Friday 7 October 2022 (19,30:XNUMX pm) but moves to the Maddaloni Archaeological Museum. Here, for the “Crossover: Ba-Rock” cycle, the Extracello Quartett will give life to the concert “From Bach to Bob Dylan”, performing music by, among others, Piazzolla, Bach, The Doors, Pharell Williams and, indeed, Dylan. Made up of Edda Breit, Melissa Coleman, Margarethe Herbert and Gudula Urban, the Extracello Quartett ensemble explores the limits of the cello, creating programs with different genres, their own compositions and arrangements as well as improvisations from classical to jazz and rock.
The musical kermesse on Saturday 8 October 2022 (19,30:XNUMX pm) moves to the Church of the SS. Trinità (S. Audeno) in Aversa, where, for the cycle “I concerti dell'orchestra”, the Caserta Chamber Orchestra Ensemble will perform music by Haydn. Founded and directed by Antonino Cascio, the Caserta Chamber Orchestra has collaborated with well-known soloists, participated in important festivals and concert seasons in Italy and abroad and proposed programs linked to its research activity.
The long musical weekend ends with the double date on Sunday 9 October 2022. At 11.15 am at the Archaeological Museum of Teano the Orchestra da Camera della Campania will repeat the concert with pieces by Haydn.
Instead, at 18 pm the Museo Campano in Capua for the “Pianofestival” cycle will host the concert of pianist Aristo Sham, Casagrande Prize 2019. The artist will perform, among others, pieces by Brahms, Bach and Chopin. Acclaimed by the New York Times as a pianist “whose playing combines clarity, elegance and transcendental technique” and by the Washington Post as a young artist with “limitless potential” who can “stand comparison with the best pianists”, Aristo Sham has held concerts on five continents, including important institutional figures.
