“Made in Italy” (Alta Sierra srl/Artist First) is the new album by the musician and composer, one of the most famous Italian saxophonists, Gianni Vancini, created with the support of the Municipality of Bologna, thanks to the Nuove Produzioni Musicali call.
As the title suggests, “Made in Italy” is a tribute to Italian music. Eight masterpieces written over a period of thirty years, from the 70s to the 90s, to which is added the unreleased song of the same name.
An album full of sounds of all kinds: from jazz ballads, to songs with references to Tower of Power, passing through Neo Soul environments. A journey through splendid Italian melodies all linked to a single common thread, Gianni Vancini's sax. There are also illustrious guests such as Umberto Tozzi, Sarah Jane Morris, Fabrizio Bosso and many others.
Produced by Vittorio Corbisiero, “Made in Italy” was preceded by the instrumental single “Adesso tu”, currently on radio rotation. A tribute to the famous song with which Eros Ramazzotti won the Sanremo Festival in 1986 and which marked a very important era for Italian music. In this version Gianni Vancini was able to give the piece a new look, transforming it into a wonderful ballad full of jazz and blues nuances.
“I am very happy that this work, which survived the pandemic and fortunately was not lost, can finally see the light. I am proud to have given a new look to timeless songs that have been part of my musical and personal growth. The hope is that they can also be appreciated in this alternative version. Happy listening to everyone”, declares Gianni Vancini.
