The agents of the police station Pozzuoli, during the territorial control service, while passing through via Reginelle they noticed the driver of a scooter confabulating with two other people and, at the sight of them, accelerating to evade the control.
A chase ensued until, having reached Via Vicinale Canosa, the man, in order to free himself of a bag, lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a street lamp; at this point, the fugitive abandoned the motorcycle to continue his escape on foot, disappearing without a trace.
The police recovered the bag inside which they found approximately 12 grams of cocaine and a precision scale.
Yesterday morning the driver showed up at the police station where he was identified as a 25-year-old from Pozzuoli with a police record and reported for possession of narcotics with intent to deal.
In addition, he was charged with 6 violations of the Highway Code for driving without a license, for failing to comply with a stop sign, for excessive speed, for failure to wear a protective helmet and for failure to have insurance coverage. Finally, the scooter was seized.
