Due to traffic, a police officer from the Police Headquarters Napoli he followed the trail of a robber by climbing onto the scooter of a young man who was already chasing him and, after a short while, he managed to stop him.
The facts date back to yesterday afternoon when the agents of the General Prevention Office, during the territorial control service, were approached in via di Lorenzo by a scooter with a boy on board. The boy said he was chasing two people who, shortly before, in corso Garibaldi, had robbed an elderly woman of her wallet and then fled.
The patrol then headed towards Corso Garibaldi, where other passers-by indicated the direction of the two robbers' escape. Once they reached Via San Cosmo Fuori Porta Nolana, the police officers reached the young man on the scooter, who in the meantime had managed to recover the wallets.
It was at that point that one of the officers, due to traffic conditions, also got on the scooter and shortly after, in via Padre Ludovico da Casoria, he reached and stopped one of the robbers.
The man, a 33-year-old Algerian with a police record and an illegal immigrant on the national territory, was arrested for robbery. The accomplice, however, managed to disappear.
