Naples, the Brandi pizzeria closed by the NAS. It is the historic pizzeria that invented the Margherita
Closed by Nas and ASL this morning Napoli, the Antica Pizzeria Brandi, a historic establishment among the most renowned in the city where, according to tradition, the Margherita pizza was invented in 1889.
According to what has been learned, the authorities during an inspection in August had found some hygiene and sanitary deficiencies and imposed some requirements, with respect to which the premises were found to be non-compliant today.
On social media, with a multilingual post also translated into Arabic and Chinese, the pizzeria Brandi announces that it is closed today and tomorrow "for extraordinary maintenance". The premises were closed by order of the health authorities but work is being carried out inside to comply with the requirements of the NAS and the ASL in order to reopen.
The Antica Pizzeria Brandi is located in Salita Sant'Anna di Palazzo, in Chiaia, the city's best living room: inside there is a plaque that commemorates, in 1989, the 100th anniversary of the creation of the first Margherita pizza in the restaurant.
